Nepal Black Siddha Devi, GBOP
Siddha Devi Tea Estate is nestled in the hills of Ilam, at an altitude of 7,600 ft. This location provides a distinct advantage, as the high altitude and specific micro-climate of the region contribute significantly to the quality of the tea leaves and distinctive flavors found in the tea produced there.
Siddha Devi Tea Estate predominantly employs a female workforce and is a stride towards gender inclusivity and equality in a traditionally male-dominated industry. With 99% of its workforce comprising women, they not only opened doors for employment but also created a supportive environment that champions gender diversity and empowerment.
Local women farmers are provided training in tea planting, production and harvesting. Siddha Devi elevated hundreds of women to the workforce employing them and encouraging them to earn their own livelihood.
This exquisite black (golden broken orange pekoe) tea has a robust flavor with malty, mildly caramelized notes.
