SerendipiTea (a philosophy)
Philosophy of tea is not mere aestheticism in the ordinary acceptance of
the term, for it expresses conjointly with ethics and religion our whole point
of view about man and nature.
Presenting Tea as a Philosophy for living life is not new, and yet it is
not old either. It represents so much of what spans the globe. Slow down
and smell the rose [Tea], life is too precious to ignore what it offers you.
Enjoy the moment, says Tea, wait for me to bloom and appreciate what it is I
am. Wait for me to steep in the perfect geometry of my pot, delight in the
fragrance that tempts the palate, and appreciate friends who sit with you, or
even the silence of your space, reflecting your thoughts in the pool of the
Tea cup. Take a sip and watch that loose leaf settle to the bottom of the cup,
and as it hits the bottom, make a wish.
It is hygiene, for it enforces cleanliness; it is economics, for it shows
comfort in simplicity rather than in the complex and costly; it is moral
geometry, inasmuch as it defines our sense of proportion to the universe.
Tea cleans our bodies, restores our sense of well being and balance,
lifting us up in mental clarity and physical joy. It delivers its promise
of health in a cup of leaves and hot water, it illustrates versatility with
simplicity. Tea bridged the cultural gap of East and West, giving us a common
interest in expanding our worlds, to one world, without robbing either of
their distinct heritage and pride. Tea changed to accommodate our different
worlds, becoming as distinct for us, as us. Uniquely reflecting each culture.
Green Tea with its variations, green hue and delicate, subtle flavour, partners
the extensive culinary depth of the East. Whereas red Tea, fermented on its
trip to the European continent, discovered its place amongst the dark meat of
a roast, and the complimenting colours of red wine and amber ales and
beers. But regardless of colour, it is still the same herb, Tea. It treats us
equally yet respects our individual and collective needs, it places a perspective
to be viewed and heeded.
Those who cannot feel the littleness of great things in themselves are apt to
overlook the greatness of little things in others.
Be aware of what is around you, what the world truly is. Tea is not a bag, nor
is it instant. Tea is an herb, it grows, and is nurtured, it rewards us with
its infusion of water and leaves. Tea is a metaphor for the earth it grows
from, when we care, we are rewarded. The harmony of Body and Soul, to balance
ourselves with thought and deed, repel the desire for instant satisfaction and
soak in the big picture, how it all connects, what makes everything special,
unique. True gratification.
The presentation of tea for sale is not only timely, but for SerendipiTea
it is also a reflection of philosophy. As a company we advocate a lifestyle,
we reflect that in our offerings and our philosophy. We encourage people to
enter our home. Tea encompasses this view, it is inviting, drawing both
historical respect, and the vivacity of new discovery. It is the embodiment
of Zen, being both old and new, complimenting both East and West, reviving
Body and Soul. It is what is served to friends in your home, the cup of
warmth that demonstrates the need for quality time to truly know and enjoy
each other.
Tea in its many forms, will always amaze when the leaves unfurl and show their
true colour, and lead by example when they show love of earth by recycling
mulch to nurture the earth to produce beauty, as thanks for its own birth.
Nurture and care. In varying forms and functions, Teas alleviate skin
irritations such as insect bites, help sterilize wounds and alleviate the
stress of ageing of skin. It is a natural digestive and stimulant, arousing
mind and body, not just working nerves, so as allowing you to function
competently, with clarity of thought and action.
In its simplicity, it educates. Drink it any way that pleases you, but
first drink it pure and unadulterated. Taste the earth from which it came, for
each region has its own distinct taste, aroma and leaf. SerendipiTea will
proudly bear the names of the original estates, and country, to encourage
people to travel the world with us not only through the visual feast of our
merchandise, but also through the palatable and aromatic adventure of tea.
